Fredericksburg Regional Office

The Office on Youth’s Fredericksburg Regional Division is the main hub of services for the Fredericksburg area. This division serves the City of Fredericksburg and the Counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford, and has served the Planning District since 1989.

Anger Management

  • Facilitated, classroom based program

  • Curriculum includes identifying triggers and cues to anger and completing a conflict trigger scale, developing a plan to keep anger from escalating to aggression, identifying cost of aggression and introducing effective coping skills including reframing conflict and decisional balance activities

Community Service

Community Service Work

  • Community based projects supervised by agency facilitators occurring throughout the region in each locality

  • Projects occur on a rotating basis through partnerships with local nonprofit agencies

Restorative Justice

  • Facilitated, classroom based program

  • Curriculum components include Restorative Justice Competency Development as identified within OJJDP and The Balanced and Restorative Justice Project (BARJ) while learning about accountability, empathy, and healthy decision making

Substance Use Intervention & Education

  • Facilitated group education program focusing on the effects of substance use on the brain, coping strategies, building resiliency, cycle of addiction/recovery, and motivation for change

  • Youth are placed in this program based on a clinical assessment completed during the intake appointment

Substance Use Disorder Support

  • Small group treatment program encourages youth to examine the impact of substance use on their lives and explores ways to make changes to alcohol and drug use

  • Group sessions focus on dependence, addiction, prescription drug use, and recovery

  • Youth are placed in this program based on a clinical assessment completed during the intake appointment

The following Diversion Programs allow participants to complete court ordered services within the timeframe specified in their Diversion Contract.

Restorative Justice-Larceny

  • Evidence based practices, facilitated curriculum focused on learning the effects of theft crimes on the community, offender accountability, and developing pro-social skills

VOISE

  • Evidence based practices, facilitated program with the focus on increasing self-awareness, self-regulation, accountability, effective decision-making, pro-social skills, and empathy
